From creating a copy of the Britney spears video “Hit me baby one more time” I have learnt and developed a lot of skills that I can use whilst creating my actual music video. Some of the things that I learnt was my time keeping for the shots, I didn’t realise just how much time I would need to create the shot I wanted so therefore I have learnt to give myself more time for shooting. Another thing is relying on people to perform is something that in the future I will need to keep better track of and maybe create a shooting schedule as some people were confused about when and where I needed them, this would really mess up my video in the real thing. I also shot the video over two days, the problem that occurred here was costume and Mise en scene of the video was changing in each shot so next time I will plan this through to create the exact same scene. I then learnt that the planning must be so detailed with the lip syncing and movements being parallel to each other. Lastly I have learnt to use items such as tripods to keep the shots and camera level as it looked very unprofessional.
The best part of the shoot was arranging all the shots, actors and scenes to recreate the angles of the original video, I also enjoyed making my own piece of work with the camera and editing suite. I feel that by doing this britney spears task it will impact on my final piece as I have experienced things that can go wrong in planning and production so that now I can be more prepared and also I can organise my time a lot better and have all equipment and cast ready for the actual shoot of the music video.
