Colbie Caillat - Begin Again
I chose this song due to its country and western style genre. I feel that this genre would create a good music video as you could create a diverse video that could either follow the narrative, be totally concept based or initially be performance. For example it could look totally stereotypical of country and western and have performance based of just the artist singing and playing but I would go narrative and create a story evolving around the lyrics which would probably focus on a boy and girl relationship situation.
Lady Gaga - Money Honey
I chose this song because it had a really catchy electro beat which I feel would be complemented by a good lively video that would highlight the music. An idea for this would be a dance/nightclub scene with a routine dance of several girls. I would also feel that the artist shouldn’t be featured in the video and give her a hidden identity as she would be already a recognised artist from her genre of electro.
Lily Allen - 22
I feel that this pop song shows a strong narative that in a video can be explored through humour or to create a serious side. The basic beat that runs through lets you listen to the words and interpret them more. The visuals i would use would be a story of following around the girl that she sings about to give the lyrics some identity, I would not include the artist herself and promote her in the ancillery tasks as an already established artist and to focus on her work rather than her image.
