In 2004, together with Evan Rogers they produced a demo CD with twelve of Rihanna’s songs and sent them off to various record labels and people within the industry which included Pon De Replay one of Rihannas future hits.
In February, 2005, when Jay Z (Shawn Carter), rapper and CEO of Def Jam Recordings, heard the demo. he immediately wanted to sign Rihanna to his label.
She signed a contract for six albums, and Rihanna went to work recording and co-writing the songs for her first album called Music of the Sun. The album was released on August 30, 2005
Her first single from the album, “Pon De Replay” was released in June 2005 which was followed with a music video showing Rihanna as a fresh faced teenager with high ambitions
Rihannas next album was released in 2006 which was called A Girl Like Me, which continued to show her innocence and teenage styles.
Her third album Good Girl Gone Bad in 2007 changed Rihannas image completely. Her image was made sexier and the innocent image was dropped to an older attractive women eventually dying her hair black and cutting it short.
Later this year Rihanna started dating Chris brown and it was made public a little while later, her cute image was completely taken away this year and appreciation for her sex appeal and crazy dress style was taken a lot more seriously.
2008 Rihanna toured on Kanye West's Glow in the Drak Tour in support with her next album to be released.
In 2009, Rihanna was set to present the Grammy awards. It was later cancelled with reports suspected Rihanna to have taken domestic violence from her boyfriend Chris Brown and was taken through a court trial.
Later this year Rihanna collaborated with Jay-Z and Kanye West on Run This Town. The song reached number 1 in 10 different countries. She appeared on the cover of Vogue Italia for the September 2009 Issue. The photo shoot was influenced by Rihanna's hair, which she had cut for the shoot into a mohawk-like style. The style of the shoot was Extreme Couture and very dark, and in one shot she appeared semi-nude.
